Bike Valet is a secure, staffed bicycle parking service that provides cyclists with a safe and reliable place to leave their bikes at events. Think of it like a coat check—but for your bike! Whether you’re attending a festival, market, or community gathering, Bike Valet ensures your bicycle is parked securely while you enjoy the event worry-free. With our high-capacity system, we can accommodate up to 400 bikes at a time, making it a scalable solution for events of all sizes.

Bike Valet is a project of Hub City Cycles, a non-profit community bike shop located in downtown Nanaimo. Since 2012, we’ve been working to make cycling more accessible, inclusive, and supported in our city.
We operate under a co-op model, which means we are owned and run by our members and volunteers. All revenue from the Bike Valet service is reinvested directly into our programs, community initiatives, and shop operations—fueling a more bike-friendly future for everyone
Whether we’re fixing bikes, hosting workshops, or parking hundreds of bikes at a festival, our mission stays the same: to support sustainable, safe, and active transportation in Nanaimo.
How It Works
Ride, Park, Enjoy the Event.
Using our Bike Valet is simple, safe, and stress-free:
Arrive at the Event
Ride your bike to the clearly marked Bike Valet station.
Check In
Our friendly team will take your bike, provide you with a numbered claim ticket, and park your bike in our secure valet area.
Enjoy the Event
No need to worry about your bike—our volunteers and staff will keep it safe.
Pick Up
When you're ready to leave, return your ticket and we'll retrieve your bike.
We provide everything: signage, fencing, racks, and trained volunteers. Our equipment is capable of securely handling up to 400 bikes, making us one of the most scalable and dependable services of its kind in the region.
